Individualized equine wellness sessions combining gentle physical techniques, careful observation and intuitive connection — always guided by the horse's comfort, responses and willingness to participate.

The service is suitable not only for horses experiencing physical concerns, but also older horses, horses returning from an ailment, newly purchased horses, horses that have recently travelled or experienced environmental changes, and horses that seem distracted, unsettled or unable to focus. It can also simply provide a calming reset for a horse who otherwise appears well.
This is the main hands-on service. Depending on the individual horse, a session may incorporate light touch, soft-tissue movement, lymphatic techniques, meridian-based work and gentle stretching. Rather than following a rigid sequence, I pay attention to the horse’s responses and allow those responses to guide the session. By combining gentle physical techniques with close observation of the horse’s responses, each session follows what the horse communicates through movement, behaviour, sensitivity and release
This would focus more heavily on the relationship between horse and owner. I would help the owner better understand the horse’s responses, preferences, boundaries and communication so they can develop stronger common ground, trust and connection
This would be more educational. I would teach the owner a selection of gentle touch, stretching, observation and connection techniques they can safely incorporate into their relationship with their horse
The initial request should include details about the horse, the owner’s goals, and any significant events within two weeks of the session, such as illness, veterinary care, medication changes, vaccinations, travel, competition, relocation, or training changes.
Kat will get in touch to confirm availability, learn a little more about your horse and make sure the session is appropriate for their needs.
Before the session, I meet both horse and owner to discuss goals, observe the horse and environment, and allow the horse to become comfortable with me. This helps us confirm that the approach feels like a good fit before proceeding.
If appropriate, we move forward with an individualized wellness plan, which may consist of a recommended series of sessions.
Kat was incredibly patient with my older horse and gave him all the time he needed to settle. The session felt calm, gentle and completely guided by his responses. I really appreciated how clearly she explained what she was noticing along the way.
I wasn’t sure how my horse would respond to the session, but Kat never rushed or pushed him. She paid close attention to his body language and adjusted everything around his comfort. It felt thoughtful, respectful and very horse-led.
The session helped me notice things in my horse’s behaviour and responses that I had previously missed. Kat explained everything in a very grounded way and showed me simple ways to be more observant and connected in our everyday interactions.

The horse is never forced into a session. Their movement, behaviour, sensitivity and responses are observed throughout, and the pace or approach can be adjusted at any time. The horse’s comfort and willingness always come first.

It may be appropriate for horses returning from an ailment, adjusting after travel, relocation, competition, training changes or other disruptions. The session is always adapted to the horse’s current state and individual responses rather than following a standard routine.
No. This service provides complementary wellness support and does not diagnose conditions or replace veterinary care. If something concerning is observed during a session, you may be encouraged to discuss it with your veterinarian or another appropriate equine professional.

Agápē Hoof also leaves space for intuition, energy and deeper connection — creating time to slow down, notice more and listen to what the horse may be communicating.
